ABOUT THE SHOW
THE THRESHOLD is Eternal Performing Arts’ newest original production - a journey through the space between who we have been and who we are becoming.
Through a fusion of hip hop, Afro and contemporary dance, Eternal’s Pro Team and Senior Contemporary Performance Group journey through fracture, fire and alignment, exploring the moments that challenge us, shape us and ultimately transform us.
Featuring powerful choreography, evocative storytelling and original poetry by local artist and Eternal community member Vicki Kelleher, THE THRESHOLD invites audiences into the uncomfortable, uncertain and transformative space where growth begins.
What exists in the space between where you are and where you’re going?
Fear?
Uncertainty?
Desire?
The urge to stay?
The need to move?
What happens when we reach the edge of what we know? Do we retreat? Do we resist? Do we surrender? And what might become possible when we choose to move anyway?
Created as a prequel to Eternal’s major 2027 production, THE PORTAL, this is where the story begins.
Transformation doesn’t happen on the other side.
It happens in the crossing.

Claire Thompson is a CREATIVE DIRECTOR, movement artist, choreographer and educator whose work explores movement as a vehicle for empowerment, connection and transformation. With over 20 years in dance, her practice centres on creating spaces that invite self-expression, freedom and the confidence to take up space.

CO-DIRECTOR
Rochelle de Vries is a creative director, movement artist and educator whose work is grounded in the transformative power of movement, music and connection. As founder of Eternal Performing Arts, her practice centres on expression, belonging and creating spaces that educate, empower and elevate.

VICKI KELLEHER
POET
Vicki Kelleher is a spoken word artist whose poetic work sits in the edges of our internal and external landscapes. Her work has been performed internationally in collaboration with sound, voice, movement, and video artists in Europe, United States, and Canada, and closer to home in site specific collaborative projects of science and emotion.
